Social Policy Research Centre
The action research project is about how disability support organisations provide culturally responsive supports to enhance the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) experience of Australian Chinese people with disability, their families and communities in Sydney. The project involved action research in three Chinese peer support groups set up in 2018, exploring the process and outcome of co-production between the organisations and Australian Chinese people with disability and their families. Findings of this project contribute to the knowledge about cultural competence in disability support and generate implications for practice with people with disability from diverse cultural backgrounds.
