Technology for education

Education technologies and software that enable learning and teaching at UNSW are managed in collaboration with the Division of PVC (Education).

The Educational Technology Support (ETS) team has developed a support model, making it easier for you to access the service you need. When you contact the IT Service Centre, you can have your issue escalated quickly by pressing ‘2’ to go directly to the .

Educational technologies & software

LinkedIn Learning offers UNSW staff unlimited access to online courses for growth. Log in with your UNSW zID (zID@ad.unsw.edu.au) and password. You can link your LinkedIn account or continue without it. Use zID@ad.unsw.edu.au as your username. Once logged in, use LinkedIn Learning with your UNSW login or link it to your personal LinkedIn profile.

Moodle is an open-source learning management system that allows academics to create, manage and deliver courses and educational resources.

The UNSW Lecture Recordings+ service, also known as Echo360/LR+, uses the Echo360 Active Learning Platform. This cloud-based service helps make lectures, flipped classrooms, and blended learning more engaging and effective.

Turnitin lets teachers set up a submission page where students can upload their work for grading. It’s often used to check for originality and detect potential plagiarism by comparing submissions against various sources, including the web and papers from UNSW and other institutions.

The Box is UNSW's online media management service, which allows you to manage and share audio/video/images and documents directly within Moodle and on other websites.

Blackboard Ultra is an upgraded version of Blackboard Collaborate; a virtual classroom system allowing for online interaction. Blackboard Ultra has been incorporated into the Moodle learning management system.

Maple TA is a web-based platform for creating assessments in courses that require mathematics and statistics. This package support complex, free-form entries of mathematical equations and intelligent solvers for marking tests and assignments.

Qualtrics is a web-based platform for creating and distributing surveys. It provides an easy to navigate user interface to create and distribute questionnaires.
