Find Me Print user manual
Find Me Printallows you to release & collect your print jobs - only when you’re ready - simply by swiping your UNSW ID card at any Find Me Print enabled printer.Find Me Print will minimise waste and protect your sensitive information. Your printing jobs can stay in a virtual print queue "FindMe" for up to 24 hours until you release them.

The Find Me printer mapping package should now be rolling out to all UNSW-provided Windows & Mac devices.
If devices are connected to the UNSW network (VPN required if offsite), the printer will map automatically.
For Windows devices, if the device is not connected to the UNSW network, a shortcut has been placed on the desktop to map the printer manually once connected. The shortcut is called “Map FindMe Printer”.

If the queue has not been mapped and the shortcut is not available, then users can use the company portal (Self Service) to install the printer package themselves.

Step 1: Swipe your staff ID card at the card reader.
Step 2: Input your zID (without @ad.unsw.edu.au) & password. Press "Log In".
Done! You can now swipe in.

Step 1: Print to "FindMe" print queue on your device.
Step 2: Swipe your UNSW ID card at your desired printer.
Step 3: Select the option "Print Release."
Step 4: Select your print job.

Step 2: Select the option “Copy/Scan to Email” or the option “Scan”, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 3: If the option “Scan” is selected, a screen with 3 options will appear:
- Email: Email scanned copy in non-searchable pdf format* without compression
- Email - (Comp Only): Email scanned copy in non-searchable pdf format* with compression*
- Email - (Search + Comp): Email the scanned copy in searchable pdf format with compression*
* non-searchable pdf format: scanned copy is not in a text format, users can’t copy/search text in the copy.
* with compression: scanned copy is compressed to reduce the size of the email pdf attachment.

To delegate someone else to print/copy/scan on your behalf, please contact your division/faculty/school managers to raise a delegation request.

FindMe Printdoes not impact your existing ways of printing.
For issues with entering your password due to its complexity, or any other technical issues, please raise IT service requests to the UNSW IT Digital Support team (Tel: +61 2 9385 1333).
You can view printer error messages by pressing the“Machine Status”button.

Q: How can I collect my print job from the virtual queue?
A: You can collect your print job from any printer equipped with the “FindMe” printing/scanning device in any building.Q: Can I still use my regular printer/print queue?
A: Yes, you can continue to use your regular printer/print queue. This option remains available to all staff.Q: Will there be any changes to the chargeback model for printing?
A: No, the chargeback model for printing will remain the same. Charges will continue as per the existing BAU agreements.Q: How long will it take to upgrade the Library printers?
A: Upgrading the Library printers will take approximately 90-120 minutes. This includes installing the scanning device and ensuring everything works correctly to minimize disruption and downtime.
