Societal impact
At UNSW, were driven by a passion for creating positive social impact within and beyond the UNSW community. Through our commitment to research, education, and practice, we uphold our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to society.
UNSW is committed to making a positive societal impact through its electronic waste recycling. In partnership with Estate Management General Services, we provide a free-of-charge collection and recycling service for IT-related electronic waste, including laptops, desktops, computer accessories, monitors, server racks, printers, and more. This program aims to reduce e-waste and promote sustainability by ensuring responsible disposal of electronic items. To find out more, go to eWaste hardware disposal.
In addition to IT e-waste, UNSW encourages the recycling of white goods and non-IT electronic waste. For assistance with these items, please reach out to Estate Managment General Services.
Our commitment extends to toner cartridge recycling through the program. Empty toner cartridges can be dropped off at designated recycling boxes across the campus. For those who wish to have a personal collection box, registration is available on the Close the Loop website. Once the box is full, users can conveniently arrange a pickup by calling 1800 242 473 or.泭
