Celebrating LGBTQIA+ people
June is Pride Month. It commemorates the birth of the global liberation movement for LGBTQIA+ equality and the pride marches that sprung up in the wake of the 1969 Stonewall riots.
Internationally, events like Sydney Pride Festival are now held through June to uplift the voices, celebrate the culture and protect the human rights of LGBTQIA+ communities. It is a time to raise awareness of their history; to remember the pioneers who fought for equality in the face of very real threats to their own safety and freedom.Â
Books for researchers
Throughout June, Pride month not only gives the LGBTQ+ community the opportunity to celebrate, but it also gives them the opportunity to peacefully protest and raise awareness of any of the current issues they face. To support this, and to show commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG10: Reduced Inequalities and SDG5: Gender Equality, Springer Nature have collated an exclusive collection of the latest research from across disciplines and imprints related to LGBTQ+ issues.Â
Here you can read articles and chapters from across 10 topics for free, throughout Pride Month, along with insightful blog posts from our guest contributors and a Pride sale where you can use the code PRIDE22 at checkout to purchase any of the books featured.
