The School of Clinical Medicine’s research projects in infectious disease, immunity and inflammation focus on understanding, preventing and treating complex infections and conditions. We do this through collaborative partnerships with clinical campuses, public health researchers, infectious disease physicians and government bodies.

Common lung diseases of childhood (CoLD)

Our research group aims to determine the socio-demographic and modifiable factors associated with poor health outcomes in children with common respiratory disease.

South West Sydney Gastroenterology and Liver Services

Our research unit translates clinical medicine to enhance the outcomes of patient treatment including clinical medicine, laboratory-based virology and immunology research, qualitative methods, and epidemiology.

Molecular and Integrative Cystic Fibrosis Research Centre

Our lab is interested in understanding the cellular and molecular processes involved in the regulation of epithelial cell biology and how the breakdown of this regulation leads to pathogenesis of disease such as Cystic Fibrosis.
