Students learning in the Medicine & Health facilities at the UNSW Kensington campus

The School of Clinical Medicine encompasses four Sydney metropolitan campuses and five rural NSW locations. Our campuses are hubs that connect health practitioners, students and academics. As a student, you’ll gain first-hand clinical experience and take part in ground-breaking research.

The clinical campuses work closely with local health districts and clinical services, our conjoint and adjuncts in those locations, and medical research institutes to further develop our teaching and research programs. These are crucial partnerships for both the school and the faculty. 

Our clinical campuses undertake a number of roles within the faculty:  

  • Deliver clinical and skills teaching for all phases of the UNSW undergraduate medicine program.
  • Enhance the research profile of each campus by building on local strengths and fostering research programs relevant to their local communities. 
  • Foster and develop local postgraduate research candidates at each site. 
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for UNSW Medicine & Health in line with the Health 25 strategy at their campus. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our partners in the local health districts, local clinical facilities, conjoints and medical research institutes to further develop academic medicine at each campus.

Randwick

The Randwick Clinical Campus is a key partner in the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct, set to become the largest co-located health precinct in NSW. It incorporates three teaching hospitals: Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.

St Vincent's

The St Vincent’s Healthcare Clinical Campus encompasses the clinical facilities on the St Vincent’s Darlinghurst campus and the co-located research institutes and facilities. These include the Garvan Institute, Victor Chang Institute and St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research.

Rural

The Rural Clinical Campuses brings world-class medical education to rural Australia, allowing students to undertake their full medical program at rural campuses in several locations. The school has campuses in Albury, Coffs Harbour, Griffith, Port Macquarie and Wagga Wagga.

South West Sydney

The South West Sydney Clinical Campuses comprise the UNSW efforts at Liverpool, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Fairfield and Braeside in the south west of Sydney. We work closely with local clinical facilities and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research.

St George & Sutherland

The St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses work closely with the hospitals at these locations and with the St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation. Together they deliver and build the teaching and research contributions of UNSW in the region.
