What do teaching fellows do?

Teaching fellows are HDR students given the opportunity to teach tutorials in a guided manner at the first year level in chemistry. They receive training, support and mentoring for teaching in a collegial atmosphere, in addition to performing exam marking. The teaching fellowship awards $5000 per annum, with approximately four new fellows appointed each year.

How many hours do teaching fellows teach?

Teaching fellows complete 75 hours of teaching during the year. Most of this is done as a tutor in one term (two or three tutorials per week plus weekly training and debrief). 

Who is eligible?

Teaching fellows must be enrolled as an HDR student in the School of Chemistry (started after 1 July 2020).
