Studying at the Centre for Ecosystem Science (CES) has given our alumni experiences and skills that have led to interesting and rewarding careers across a wide variety of fields and sectors both within Australia and internationally. 

We're proud of all Centre for Ecosystem Science alumni and take this opportunity to spotlight some of these accomplished people who are following their passion and contributing to ecological knowledge and protection of the earth's ecosystems and biodiveristy via many different paths. 

Dr. Aly Ross

I received a PhD from UNSW Centre for Ecosystem Science and joined the Australian Wildlife Conservancy as a Wildlife Ecologist.

Dr. Celine Steinfeld

I started out with an honours project mapping floodplain development in the Macquarie Marshes, now I’m the Director of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, an independent group of experts with the goal of linking science to public policy to improve the management of natural resources.

Dr. Corey Callaghan

I received a PhD from UNSW Centre for Ecosystem Science and then did a postdoc and got a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position in the US.

Dr. Joanne Ocock

A Kiwi who liked frogs and streams, and became a specialised wetland ecologist currently achieving frog and waterbird conservation goals in the Murray-Darling Basin.
