Renowned First Nations leader joins the UNSW Cities Institute

Were proud to welcome respected practicing architect and policy leader, Dillon Kombumerri, to the team as Professor of Practice at the Cities Institute.
Dillon is also Principal Architect for the Government Architect NSW and has more than 30 years experience bringing his unique indigenous perspective to re-imagining the built environment. During this time, Dillon has also taught and lectured in many national and international forums to shine a light on the often-hidden value of indigenous knowledge and how it can positively influence private and public agencies to deliver better outcomes for the built environment.
Were rapt Dillon has chosen to join us as the UNSW Cities Institute continues to embed Indigenous ways of working in city making and gather lessons from our First Nations history, said UNSW CI Director, Professor Peter Poulet.
Dillon is an industry leader who has so much to share and progress with urban leaders across the Asia Pacific. Hes an exciting and dynamic addition to the team.
Dillon has delivered award-winning projects for multiple government clients including health, justice, education, family and community services. His most recent project launched in 2023 is the Connecting with Country Framework to facilitate an understanding and respect for the value of Aboriginal knowledge in the design and planning of places.
