Centre for Childhood Cancer Research
A better life for all children with cancer.
Cancer kills more Australian children than any other disease.
At the UNSW Centre for Childhood Cancer Research, we strive not only to save the lives of all children with cancer but to reduce their suffering.
UNSW Medicine & Health has a strong impact in paediatric cancer research. Our Centre continues to build on this research excellence through our strategic relationships with clinicians, industry and the community.
It's estimated that 300,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in children and adolescents each year around the world.
60 years ago, the prognosis for childhood cancer survival was grim. The survival rate for children is now 8 out of 10.
Through translational research we'll turn discoveries in the laboratory into actual treatments for kids with cancer as soon as possible .
