Your Doctors of Tomorrow
Striving for a sustainable Medical Workforce for Rural and Regional Australia.
Located in the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW, the Mid North Coast Regional Training Hub (MNCRTH) aims to identify and provide medical students and junior doctors the opportunity to obtain regional medical training whilst developing a sustainable medical workforce that meets the needs of regional and rural Australia.
Pathways and Training
Developing new, and strengthening existing regional education and training pathways that enable medical students and doctors to develop their skills locally.
The MNC RTH is continuously working towards the development and enhancement of locally delivered training and education opportunities.
- We are integratedÌýwith the UNSW Medicine Rural Clinical SchoolÌý- Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour campuses.
- We can help you find information about locally available rural education and training pathway opportunities and link you to the appropriate people to discuss these with!
- Our Hub can connect you with other Rural Training Hubs across Australia to find the rural pathway most suited to your individual needs.

Partner Health Organisations
By working closely with our partner health organisations, we are ableÌýto:
- Identify community need and support the accreditation process of training posts to meet this need
- Support the accreditation of required training posts and enable medical practitioners to undertake training within our regional Mid North Coast Local Health District
- Identify medical students and junior doctors with an interest in rural and regional career pathways and provide focussed support and skill development to enable them to reach their goals.
We can:
- Introduce you to key stakeholders and mentors within the health service who can provide direction and career information
- Identify beneficial training opportunities being provided by external education providers
- Work collaboratively with RTOs to support JMO/RMOs interested in General Practice as a career pathway.
The Mid North Coast RTH is part of the UNSW Rural Clinical School and this enables us to provide comprehensive individualised support through the close working relationships we are fortunate to have developed over many yearsÌýwith our partner organisations and health colleagues including Junior Medical Officer Managers.
