We offer rigorous programs of learning where you can gain high-level practical experience through exchange and international courses, internships, clinics and competitions, most of which are credited towards your degree.

UNSW Law & Justice leads the way in innovative legal education. Our students dont just learn about the law, they put their studies into action with Australias leading and largest range of experiential learning opportunities.

EveryLLBand Juris Doctor (JD) student spends time at our on-site community legalcentre, Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC), andprior to 2020,one in two of our students completedpart of their degree overseas, with the hope that thiscanresumein the nearfuture.

Exchange

You can also study overseas on an international exchange at leading universities around the world.

Overseas electives

If youre keen to add international experience and legal knowledge to your study program, UNSW Law & Justice offers two-to-three-week overseas electives.

Internships

Internships give you the chance to trial careers, offering training, practical legal experience and a real insight into future career paths.

Clinics

Clinical legal education provides the opportunity to transform what youve learnt in the classroom into real-life practice under the guidance of experienced practitioners.

Competitions

UNSW Law & Justice students can hone professional skills through a variety of competitions such as mooting, trial advocacy, client interviewing and negotiation.

UNSW Law & Justice careers

UNSW Law & Justice careers was established to help our students best position themselves to secure a rewarding job at the end of their study.
This program connects final year students at UNSW with alumni mentors who are established industry professionals. Successful students will be matched with mentors based on criteria such as area of study, sector experience and shared interests.
The UNSW Law Journal is one of Australias leading academic legal journals, and one of the few to be produced entirely by a voluntary student board.
