Artist statement

My practice investigates slow aesthetics through phenomenological experience of landscape translated to contemporary materialities of screen and power tools, finding connections between repetition, flow and resonance.

‘Rockpool/ A Pensive’ explore dualities of looking into and within through expanded drawing. Rockpools, as a site of soft fascination, promote attention restoration, mind-wandering and creative generation. Embodied gestural drawing and carving, and focussed repetitive mark-making open contemplative space where these sensory experiences in nature are remembered and reactivated.
