Equity Scholarships are awarded to tertiary students who demonstrate the greatest level of financial need and are available for undergraduate and postgraduate students to apply.

Study overseas with learning abroad scholarships

There are many international scholarships available for . Most are awarded based on academic merit. Scholarships are usually confirmed when exam results for the session prior to exchange are available.

Established to encourage low socio-economic status students to participate in the UNSW Exchange Program. Students need to apply through UNSW Scholarships.

Encourages students to participate in the UNSW Exchange Program. (Eligible students automatically considered.)

Empowers scholars to immerse themselves in the cultural, social and political experiences of Asia at partner universities with $12,250 AUD to support travel, study and living expenses.

A joint funding initiative of the Commonwealth and the Cheung Kong Group for Australian undergraduates. (Eligible students automatically considered.)

New Colombo Plan

New Colombo Plan (NCP) funding may be available if you’re going on exchange in the Indo-Pacific.

You can apply directly for a range of travel scholarships through the UNSW Scholarships Office.

New Colombo Plan

New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility funding is provided by the Australian Government to support Australian undergraduates undertaking a learning abroad program in the Indo-Pacific. Locations are dependent on where UNSW has secured funding for.

Various New Colombo Plan (NCP) funding opportunities may be available if you’re going on a learning abroad program in the Indo-Pacific.

New Colombo Plan Scholarship

This highly prestigious and competitive scholarship provides Australian undergraduates the opportunity to undertake up to one academic year of exchange in an approved location. The scholarship includes provision for relevant language studies, internship, mentorship and community engagement components. Applications must be made before the UNSW deadline.

Mobility Grants for exchange

UNSW has received New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant funding for certain locations in the Indo-Pacific to support Australian undergraduate exchange in the region. The grants are valued at $7,000 and eligible students are automatically considered as part of the exchange application process.

Mobility Grants for short programs

Short courses, study tours and internships are a great opportunity to build global citizenship competencies in a shorter period of time. 

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants for short programs are open to Australian undergraduate students enrolled in a UNSW study tour or internship to one of the specified locations in the Indo Pacific.  The grants are valued between $2,000 - $3,000 and eligible students will be automatically considered as part of the course enrolment. If participating in a faculty led program, the course convenor will be able to advise if funding is available.
