Dr Sandhya Clement is a Research Associate at the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at The University of New South Wales. She completed her Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Communication) and Master of Technology (Optoelectronics and Laser Technology) at the International School of Photonics, Cochin University, India in 2008. She received her PhD degree in NanoBiophotonics from faculty of science and engineering, Macquarie University, Australia in April 2017. Her research focuses on spectroscopy and cancer nanotechnology with an emphasis on nanodrug formulation for therapeutical applications. Currently, she is leading a project in developing radiation-triggered nanodrugs for deep-seated cancers.

- Won First Rank in M Tech -Optoelectronics and Laser Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India.
- Won PSI (Photonic Society of India) Award-2008 for academic excellence, M Tech 2006-2008.
