I have worked for many years on field-based projects on the structuring of parts of the Southern New England Orogen and more recently on the relationship between deformation in country rocks and the associated granites in the Lachlan Fold Belt. The studies in the Southern New England Orogen were on a regional scale and involved extensive data collection over 3000's km2 with numerous honours students. These studies provided a basis for determining the geological history of the Hastings Block and Texas megafold. The studies of the Wyangala Batholith have involved both detailed analysis of the style of deformation in the many granite plutons within the batholith, dating of the granites, dating of the movement on faults affecting these granites and studies of the uplift history of these granites. All these studies contribute to an understanding of the geological history of the batholith.
