Dr Wang is working on computational fluid dynamics, particularly fluid-structure interaction. His research interests include the development of novel numerical methods and their applications to challenging fluid-structure interactions, such as flapping wings, biological flows, turbulent flows and etc. Dr Wang is also interested in using machine learning and CFD to solve complex problems.
Numerical methods: high-order finite difference method, finite element method, lattice Boltzmann method, material point method and etc.
Applications: aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of flapping wings, turbulent flow around blunt bodies, blood flow in?cardivascular system, bushfire modelling and etc.
