Dr Kristin Laurens
I am an Adjunct Professor in Psychiatry at UNSW Sydney, and Professor in the School of Psychology and Counselling at the Queensland University of Technology.
Research Interests:
My research programme uses record linkage of population databases to identify risk and protective factors operating during childhood that relate to later health, well-being, and social outcomes in adolescence and young adulthood. The work aims to identify children at risk of a variety of adverse outcomes, and to inform the development of effective early intervention and prevention programmes. More broadly, my work integrates neurobiological measures with epidemiological methods to determine how biological and psychosocial factors interact to determine health and well-being outcomes.
Broad Research Areas:
Neuroscience, Psychiatry, Epidemiology, Paediatrics / Child Health, Neuropsychology
