PhD Research Project
Research Project title:Â Development of High Performance Nanocomposite Bio-catalytic Membranes: Fabrication and Micropollutant removal
The aims of this project are to
- Develop innovative nanostructured coating and functionalization using blending or sol-gel approaches to fabricate novel nanocomposite membranes with polymeric substrates, tunable surface architecture, and hydrophilicity.
- Understand laccase-BPA degradation mechanisms and immobilize laccase onto functionalized support.
- Optimize biocatalytic activity and stability of functionalized membrane to enhance the removal of micropollutants based on new knowledge of removal mechanisms of bio-catalytic surfaces
