I am currently a member of the Applied and Industrial Mathematics (AIM) Research Group in the School of Science at UNSW Canberra. I have a BSc (First Class Honours and University Medal) and a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Queensland. I have also a Dip. Ed. from the National Institute of Education (Singapore). So far, I have authored over 190 research articles, and have obtained numerous competitive grants. I have extensive experience in supervising Higher Degree Research students. My current research interests are:-
- Mathematical combustion modelling, including the study of combustion waves and spontaneous ignition
- Eruptive bushfire behaviour
- Reactor engineering - chemical and bio-reactors
- Industrial mathematics
- Mathematical biology and ecology
