Gerry Redmond has been at the Social Policy Research Centre since 1997. Before that he was a social policy researcher both in the UK Department of Social Security (now the ) and at the , the University of Cambridge. Between 2001 and 2006 he was at the , Florence, where he did research on children’s well-being in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Gerry’s academic background is in sociology and social policy. His research interests encompass both the conceptualisation and measurement of child poverty and well-being in Australia and in other countries, with a broad focus children’s material wellbeing, their health, their developmental outcomes, and their own perspectives on their well-being.
