2021: Telehealth delivery of an exercise intervention for women with gynaecological cancer (Wesley Research institute - Clinical Innovation Grant, $100,000)
I am an Accredited exercise Physiologist, clinical researcher, and lecturer with the Department of Exercise Physiology in the School of Health Sciences. My researchfocuses on improving health outcomes for people with cancer through enhancing access to exercise services and optimising exercise prescription.
My PhD was awarded from UNSW in 2019 and focused on the role of exercise to manage systemic inflammation in people after treatment for cancer. Since then, my research has involved the application of exercise to improve health related outcomes across the cancer trajectory, from diagnosis, during treatment and into survivorship, with a focus on breast and gynaecological cancers.
I have been a practicing clinician working with people with cancer and other chronic disease populations including those with cardiometabolic disease and post infective fatigue syndromes since 2015. My teaching expertise lies in clinical exercise physiology including exercise assessment and delivery in healthy and chronic disease populations.
