Dr Ben Taylor
MBChB, FACEM, FRCEM, Grad Cert Clin Ed (Sim), MClinED
Associate Professor Ben Taylor is a senior specialist in Emergency Medicine at Liverpool Hospital, one of the busiest emergency departments in Australia.
He is an award winning medical educator with expertise in critical care, interprofessional and simulation based education. In 2021 he won the main UNSW Medicine and Health South West Sydney Clinical Campuses teaching award – the Denise Lonergan teaching prize for his contribution to emergency and simulation teaching over a number of years.
Ben is involved with various South West Sydney (SWS) clinical campuses and university wide medical school committees and is a current member of the UNSW Simulation Based Learning Advisory Committee (SBLAC) of which he is immediate past chair. He currently chairs the deteriorating patient subcommittee of the SBLAC. He was previously a member of the Clinical Governance Committee, UNSW Clinical Skill & Simulation Centre, SWS Clinical Campuses and have previously been a member of the Clinical Learning and Assessment Committee (CLAC) and the Interprofessional Education Advisory Group.
Ben's undergraduate medical degree is from the University of Manchester, UK. He completed his postgraduate emergency training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He holds a Masters in clinical education (MClinEd) from Flinders University. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (UK) Ad Eundem.Ìý
