Dr. Ang Liu is an Associate Professor of Engineering Design at the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, University of New South Wales. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering atÌýthe University of Southern California (USC) in 2012. He was a Visiting Assistant Professor and Manager of the Viterbi iPodia Program at USC from 2013 to 2016. He joined UNSW as a Senior Lecturer in 2016 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. Dr. Liu's research interests include design thinking, design methodology, intelligent manufacturing, digital twin, artificial intelligence, and engineeringÌýeducation.

Dr. Liu is a Fellow of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), Associate MemberÌýof International Academy forÌýProduction Engineering (CIRP), Invitational Fellow of JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science),ÌýFellow of the PLuS Alliance, and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). He is Secretary of CIRP Scientific Technical Committee on Design in 2022-2025. He was Co-Chair of the 10thÌýInternational Conference on Axiomatic Design (ICAD2016), General Chair of the 13th International Conference on Axiomatic Design (ICAD2019), Chair of the 2nd Digital Twin International Conference in 2022, and Chair of theÌýÌýin 2023.ÌýHe received multiple prestigious awards such as the Park's Best Journal Paper Award in 2019, UNSW Vice-Chancellor’s Award for OutstandingÌýContributionsÌýto Student Learning in 2021​, one of the 250 Top Researchers by the Australian's Research Magazine 2021-2022, Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning of the 2022 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT), Best Paper Award by Journal of Manufacturing Systems in 2022,Ìýetc. Dr. LiuÌýis an Associate Editor of , and he serves in theÌýeditorial boards of multiple prestigiousÌýjournals such as ,Ìý, , ,Ìý,Ìý, ,Ìýetc.Ìý
