About the program
The Higher Degree Research (HDR) program at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), UNSW, has seen over 80 students successfully complete their PhD and Masters degrees, with a success rate of over 90%.
Tailored to foster academic excellence and professional growth, the program equips students with robust methodological training and access to cutting-edge research facilities. Under the guidance of internationally recognised supervisors, HDR candidates engage in rigorous research projects to address critical substance use and addiction harms. This immersive experience not only cultivates expertise in conducting independent research but also prepares graduates to contribute significantly to policy development, clinical practice, and public health initiatives. Through a supportive and collaborative environment, NDARC's HDR program empowers students to make meaningful contributions to advancing knowledge and interventions in the complex landscape of drug and alcohol research.
