In early July, the UNSW Institute for Global Development (IGD) travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal to take part in a two-day partner writing workshop focused on drawing out key insights and conclusions from a year-long research program on community safety and security in the Asia Pacific.
The research has developed case studies on the challenges and successes emerging from devolved security architecture, designed to provision safety for communities in the Bangsamoro (Philippines), Lumbini Province (Nepal), Karenni State (Myanmar), and Vanuatu.
The IGD is collaborating with the (Cambodia) and (Nepal) on this initiative, with support from the .
In August 2024, IGD, CPCS and Niti Foundation will present key findings to stakeholders in the Australian government in Canberra.
