Congratulations to Mareike Dressler of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, who has been selected for the 2024Â J G Russell Award.
Conferred by the Australian Academy of Science, this prestigious top-up grant provides an additional $7,000 to projects funded via the ARC's Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA). It recognises the costs involved in experimental scientific research and the funding can be utilised for equipment, maintenance and travel.Ìý
Awardees are selected by the Australian Academy of Science from the highly ranked recipients of ARC DECRAs.ÌýThe awards are sponsored by the generosity of the late Miss J Russell, who was passionate about supporting talented young Australian researchers.Ìý
Dr Dressler was recently announced as the recipient of an ARC DECRA, commencing in 2024, for her project New Frontiers in Large-Scale Polynomial Optimisation.Ìý
"As Mareike’s mentor for the DECRA and J G Russell Award applications, I am extremely proud of her success in these national competitions", said Professor Jeya Jeyakumar of UNSW Mathematics and Statistics.
"This award will provide a unique opportunity to increase the international visibility of Mareike’s DECRA research, expand her research network and foster international competitiveness of her research".
A very warm congratulations to Dr Dressler for this latest achievement!Â
