Yiru (Penny) is a PhD Student/Casual Academic/Researh Assistant at the University of Queensland & the University of New South Wales. Yiru (Penny) is pursuing her PhD at the UNSW School of Banking and Finance. Pior to her PhD, Yiru (Penny) completed her Master of Pro-Doctral Business Research (MPDBS) at UNSW, honours degree at UQ, and received the first-class honours at UQ. Yiru (Penny) has studied for a Bachelor of Finance at La Trobe University and joined La Trobe through the partnership with East China Normal University (ECNU).

Yiru (Penny)'s research interests fall under the broad area of corporate finance and bond market, corporate governance, focusing on board attention, board decision-making, and the social impact of specialized corporations around the world.

Yiru (Penny) has indeed rich teaching experience among both undergraduate, honours program and postgraduate with impressive teaching evaluation score of 4.93/5: Introduction to Finance & Foundation of Finance, Derivative and Risk Management, Financial Risk Management, Corporate Finance, International Financial Management, Portfolio Management, Financial Institutions and Markets, Behavioural Finance and Wealth Management. Penny has been participating in the design and delivery of the work-integrated learning course Behavioural Finance (FINS3407). She instructs students in the practical aspects of Behavioral Research. She also facilitates the student career development specialized on research and received the Casual Tutor Award at UQ Business School in 2023.
