About

Trisha is a PhD candidate at the School of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation. She completed her BCom (Accounting and Business Law) at UNSW and obtained a First Class Honours in Business Law in 2020. She has industry experience as an intern, graduate and intermediate accountant, assisting with the preparation of financial reports and tax planning for multinational corporations. Trisha is a full member of CAANZ and tutors in the BCom IFY (COMM1140).

Trisha’s PhD research focuses on using accounting to assist with combatting modern slavery, particularly using accounting research, knowledge and methodology to assist UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in combatting human rights injustices. She is currently looking at management controls as well as ‘new audit’ areas to gain an understanding of where research may best be focused.

Trisha has always been passionate with human rights issues and wanted her research to contribute to something meaningful and to help those suffering around the world. By broadening the horizons of accounting research to include legal, socioeconomic and management theories, her research aims at helping those living under unjust conditions.
