Jakki is a doctoral candidate researching in the field of gifted education with supervisors Associate Professor Jae Yung and Dr. Geraldine Townend. Jakki works as the Schools Service Leader - Extended Learning for Catholic Education in Tasmania. Former long-term resident of Japan, Jakki passed N1 of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and completed her undergraduate degree at Tohoku University. Jakki opened an English language school in Sendai and ran a nationwide library project. Jakki is a past president of JATNET (Japanese Language Teachers Network of Tasmania) and current committee member of TAG (Tasmanian Association for the Gifted).Â
