Bixuan Dong
Bixuan joined WRL as a PhD candidate in May 2023 to conduct research on data-driven models and their applications in predicting shoreline changes of headland beaches.
The objective of her research is to develop advanced models capable of forecasting shoreline changes. This research will help better understanding how sandy coastlines change under future climate variability and will provide valuable information for beach management.
Bixuan holds the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Coastal Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Data Analytics. Her multidisciplinary academic background inspired her to explore data-driven approaches to solve scientific problems within the field of Coastal Engineering. Prior to joining WRL, she had some work experience as a Data Analyst.
