The Microsystems research group conducts research covering the study and manufacture of electronic devices and components in the nanometre and several hundreds of microns scale.Ìý


Our research interests include:  

  • Silicon nanoelectronics with ultra-low temperature measurements for silicon-based quantum computer technologies  
  • MEMS based optical interconnects  
  • Low power integrated circuit design for biomedical applications  
  • RF MEMS  
  • Microwave to millimetre-wave devices and antennas 

Our experts also contribute significantly to the .Ìý

The microfabrication of the electronic designs and components is supported by the state-of-the-art fabrication facility  which is the UNSW node of the .Ìý 

 has been established under the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS), and links eight university-based nodes to provide researchers and industry with access to advanced fabrication facilities.Ìý 

Microsystems research projects

Our research projects include our work from quantum computing, biomedical implants, wireless communications systems to ultra-low temperature electronics. We work closely with industry and external partners to help solve some of the world’s most challenging problems.
