Sam Chan chose to study design because he wanted to comment on the world through creative means. He funnelled his interests into graphic design, furniture design, illustration and print design as he felt he could create powerful and memorable imagery for companies and institutions while also pushing thinking and awareness of cultural identity and the influences of global contemporary culture.

Sam was one of the graphic designers who helped to create and roll-out of the Museum of Contemporary Art’s digital visual identity in 2012. He's now located in Shanghai working forÌý, an international studio and workshop group with headquaters in Brisbane, New York, and Shanghai. The company is famous for the work they do with world-acclaimed artists to produce major public artworks. Some artists include Lawrence Argent, Leo Villareal, Lincoln Austin, Lindy Lee, Maria Fernanda Cardoso, Marion Borgelt, Ned Kahn, Nike Savvas, Oliver Van Den Berg, Penny Byrne, Peter Hennessey, Reko Rennie, Richard Deacon, and Richard Sweeney.Ìý

For Sam, the move unites his creative interests with his appreciation of the possibilities that result when working with people from different backgrounds and skills expertise.
