The Precision Care Clinic can help you and your doctor understand your tumour test results, and how they might relate to any treatment options or clinical trials. Sometimes the test results can have other cancer risk implications for you or your close family members. Our team of specialist doctors and genetic counsellors will work with your doctor to ensure all the information available is used to make timely decisions about your ongoing care.
-
You can discuss the Precision Care Clinic with your treating doctor and ask if they think a referral to the clinic would be beneficial. Your doctor will need to prepare the referral, and send it with the requested information.Ìý
A referral is most beneficial when the best treatment option for you is uncertain due to insufficient high-quality data.

Once referred, our team will promptly review and triage the referral to the appropriate stream(s) for a Molecular Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) review. We will also schedule an initial consultation with the Medical Oncology or Cancer Genetics team, if necessary. During the consultation, we’ll gather relevant medical history, conduct necessary tests, discuss potential treatment options, and where appropriate/possible, link with clinical and translational research opportunities including clinical trials. Our goal is to create a care plan that is tailored to your specific needs, facilitating a coordinated care experience.
