The Microfluidics Laboratory is set up for flow characterisation and temperature measurement on the micro- to nano-scale.Â
The range of equipment available includes:Â
- Inverted epifluorescent microscope with a computer controlled Z stage (100 nm step size)Â
- MicroPIVÂ system (LaVision)Â
- Peltier cooled fluorescent cameraÂ
- Nanosight LM14, syringe pumpsÂ
- Various temperature and pressure sensors with data loggersÂ
The laboratory also has a state-of-the-art high speed thermal imaging system capable of resolving mK temperature differences with 5 micrometers spatial resolution at kHz speed.Â
Micro devices are made using the extensive microfabrication clean room facilities at the UNSW Australia node of the .
