This degree will develop your creativity, problem-solving ability, critical thinking and communication skills which are important in any career within or outside of the defence force. These skills will prepare you to deal with technical issues in a computing environment, and help you develop intellectual and practical problem-solving skills through studies across a range of computing specialisations. 泭

In this program, youll apply your skills and knowledge across gaming, hardware, systems, networking and the Internet, and learn how to secure these environments. 泭

In your final year, you will complete a capstone team project with real-world application within the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and civilian domains to demonstrate your abilities in computing and cybersecurity. 泭

The Bachelor of Computing & Cyber Security is a three-year program at pass level. Students who complete the pass degree at an appropriate level may be admitted to an additional one-year Honours program Computing & Cyber Security (Honours).泭

Chief of the Defence Force Program

The Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) programs offer the opportunity for students泭entering UNSW Canberra with a high Entrance Rank, and who maintain a high level of泭performance in their studies, to undertake research in a range of disciplines that will泭develop their critical thinking and independent research skills beyond that available in泭the standard bachelor degree programs.

The range of CDF programs is characterised by the泭inclusion of specialist courses in critical analysis and/or泭research methods appropriate to the area of study.泭All programs also include discipline-specific research泭projects. The research projects will be supervised泭by academic staff from the relevant discipline. With泭the approval of the Head of School, multi- or cross-disciplinary泭projects may be undertaken. Students in泭the research courses may work independently or as泭part of a team, depending on the nature of the project泭undertaken, though all students will submit an individual泭assessment. The final assessment will be based on a written泭paper or report and oral presentations.泭

Throughout the program, students will be engaged in泭cohort activities so as to develop and maintain their interest泭and continuing involvement in the program via invited泭lectures, seminars, general reading and social events.
