UNSW Canberra Space houses a 28.4 square metre, ISO 5 (Class 100) cleanroom adjacent to our engineering office.
Our cleanroom was fitted out for the assembly and integration of our four cubesat satellites, and due to its classification, is suitable for integration and testing of optical instruments and payloads.
The cleanroom is fitted out with:
- Laminar airflow cabinet.
- 8.3 square metres of electrically grounded bench space.
- ESD flooring.
- Configurable electrical feedthrough.
- Optical breadboard (900 x 900 mm).
- Laser blind on viewing window.
Also adjacent to the cleanroom is our process laboratory, which is fitting out to perform:
- Cleaning of satellite components (ultrasonic cleaners, etc.).
- Preparation of adhesives.
- Electronics soldering and preparation.
- Electrical cable assembly.
