Developing innovative 3D multi-cellular co-culture models to investigate the metabolic cross-talk between pancreatic cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment, aiming to identify novel therapeutic approaches for this disease.
Dr. Saranya Pounraj
Dr. Saranya Pounraj completed her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences in December 2023 at Griffith University, Queensland, where her research focused on developing personalized cancer vaccines from bacterial biopolymers. In January 2024, she began her post-doctoral career at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the Tumour Microenvironment group led by Dr. Kovacevic within the School of Biomedical Sciences. Her current research involves developing innovative 3D multi-cellular co-culture models to investigate the metabolic cross-talk between pancreatic cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment, aiming to identify novel therapeutic approaches for this disease.
Dr. Pounraj has published seven research articles in Q1 journals, garnering a total of 196 citations. Her h-index and i10-index are both 4 as of 2024, reflecting her significant contributions to the research field as an early career researcher.
